Remote Learning Resumes Until Further Notice

Welcome Back!

Online Classes to resume on September 22, 2020

After extensive research and review of CDC guidelines and state regulations and discussions on the safest and most responsible approach to resuming classes, it has become apparent that at this time, GGT will start classes online only.  The comprehensive guidelines and safety protocols have made it difficult to make in person instruction possible.

Therefore, in an effort to improve online classroom instruction, the following procedures are being implemented:  Two hours of classroom instruction will be provided (two one hour sessions each week); Classes will be established with four to five students per session.  This will allow for more individualized attention to students, increased opportunities for participation between students and their teachers, and improved ability of students to remain focused, and on task. Teacher participation in Papaloizos webinars on remote teaching and training on teaching strategies and techniques is underway as well as utilization of the Papaloizos online platform during instruction (ebook, games, quizzes) to enhance learning.

Please know that the safety and well-being of our children, families and teachers is our number one concern.  GGT will monitor the current situation and stay abreast of any changes that may at some point in the future allow us to return to the classroom, if and when it is safe for all involved.  We all miss seeing our students, teachers, and family members of GGT but we must be patient until the time comes once again to be together!    Καλή Αρχή

GGT (Greek Group Tutoring) is an after-school enrichment program that focuses on teaching the Greek language, culture, heritage, and traditions to children ages 5 through 15. Its educational philosophy embraces the belief that all children are capable of learning, and entitled to educational opportunities where curriculum is student-driven, meaningful, and motivating.  The teaching staff is comprised of Greek native speakers who hold degrees in education with years of experience teaching Greek to young children.  The faculty strives to provide diversified and effective instruction to students of all abilities and backgrounds while nurturing a love of the Hellenic ideals, and fostering friendship among its students and GGT families.  The GGT board consists of parent volunteers who collaborate with teachers to develop child-centered enrichment activities and events to supplement the curriculum and to expand the students’ interests, knowledge, and pride in learning about the Greek heritage and culture. Listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills are further developed through lessons in geography, history, music, art and mythology.

GG Tutoring, Inc. was formed under Chapter 180 of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is applying for Section 501(c)(3) tax exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service.

I couldn't believe how wonderful this Greek program was for my children to not just continue to learn how to speak, read and write but they have built friendships and a true love for their culture and heritage.

— Stacy from Arlington, MA

GGT has provided the chance for my son to learn more about Greek language and culture,  and has also provided him with something that is important to us. A connection to other Greek families in  Boston.

I can't say enough about the true sense of community that exists at GGT.

— Tanya from Lexington, MA

My girls absolutely love having Kyria Popi as a teacher. It is also beautiful to see their friendships with the other students continue to grow every year!

— Nektaria from Waltham, MA

I can not say enough about how wonderful this program is. The books and content for each class is beyond my expectations. My children are learning more about the greek language and also culture and history of their ancestors.
