Remote Learning Resumes Until Further Notice

Welcome Back!

Online Classes to resume on September 22, 2020

After extensive research and review of CDC guidelines and state regulations and discussions on the safest and most responsible approach to resuming classes, it has become apparent that at this time, GGT will start classes online only.  The comprehensive guidelines and safety protocols have made it difficult to make in person instruction possible.

Therefore, in an effort to improve online classroom instruction, the following procedures are being implemented:  Two hours of classroom instruction will be provided (two one hour sessions each week); Classes will be established with four to five students per session.  This will allow for more individualized attention to students, increased opportunities for participation between students and their teachers, and improved ability of students to remain focused, and on task. Teacher participation in Papaloizos webinars on remote teaching and training on teaching strategies and techniques is underway as well as utilization of the Papaloizos online platform during instruction (ebook, games, quizzes) to enhance learning.

Please know that the safety and well-being of our children, families and teachers is our number one concern.  GGT will monitor the current situation and stay abreast of any changes that may at some point in the future allow us to return to the classroom, if and when it is safe for all involved.  We all miss seeing our students, teachers, and family members of GGT but we must be patient until the time comes once again to be together!    Καλή Αρχή

About Greek Group Tutoring

GGT (Greek Group Tutoring) is an after-school enrichment program that focuses on teaching the Greek language, culture, heritage, and traditions to children ages 5 through 15. Its educational philosophy embraces the belief that all children are capable of learning, and entitled to educational opportunities where curriculum is student-driven, meaningful, and motivating.  The teaching staff is comprised of Greek native speakers who hold degrees in education with years of experience teaching Greek to young children.  The faculty strives to provide diversified and effective instruction to students of all abilities and backgrounds while nurturing a love of the Hellenic ideals, and fostering friendship among its students and GGT families.  The GGT board consists of parent volunteers who collaborate with teachers to develop child-centered enrichment activities and events to supplement the curriculum and to expand the students’ interests, knowledge, and pride in learning about the Greek heritage and culture. Listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills are further developed through lessons in geography, history, music, art and mythology.

GG Tutoring, Inc. was formed under Chapter 180 of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is applying for Section 501(c)(3) tax exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service.

I am so grateful to the teachers and parents who stepped up and offer to our kids the opportunity to learn Greek in such a supportive environment. The teachers and Mrs. Elaine helped so much my older one to get more comfortable with her classmates and classroom participation. Her Greek reading and writing skills have improved considerably without feeling any pressure from the school. My younger one is in kindergarten and just loves her teacher and is looking forward to her class every time! The parents
involved in the school go way and beyond in organizing activities and gathering for the kids and their families (the parties are always very fun!) and bringing aboard new teachers when needed. It is amazing how smoothly everything runs within just a couple of years from the start date of GGT. I am so thankful for all the hard work they put into this!  They exceeded every expectation!"

We have been attending GGT since its beginning! My boys, now ages 10 and 8, love the environment, the teachers, the way of learning and all the social events! It is a great group of families that cares about teaching Greek language, tradition, and culture to the next generation! They do so not only through the classroom time but also through social events that relate to the Greek culture as well as opportunities to hang out with friends. The Vasilopita and Apokriatiko Glenti this year so far have been great hits that show my family Greek customs in action not just read through a text book! The teachers are very engaging with all ages and very encouraging! I cannot recommend GGT enough!

There are so many wonderful things to say about GGT where our daughter has been a student for the past two years. There is a strong sense of community and everyone makes you feel like family when you walk through the door. The director and the teachers give 100% of themselves and then some. The same love and safety our girl feels at home is being carried over in her school.  The values that are important to us are reflected in the school.  It is a place where our daughter learns the Greek language and also learns about her Greek heritage in a wonderful way!
